본 논문에서는 B3G 네트워크 환경에서 이동성 관리를 위한 요구 사항 및 프레임워크를 ITU-T SG19에서 개발되고 있는 표준안을 중심으로 하여 분석한다. B3G 네트워크는 기존의 네트워크와는 달리 다양한 엑세스 네트워크가 IP 기반의 핵심 네트워크를 통해 연결되는 새로운 네트워크 환경을 가진다. 따라서 이러한 환경에서 사용자에 대한 심리스 서비스 제송이 기본적인 요구사항이 될 것으로 예상되며 이러한 심리스 한 서비스 제공을 위하여 이동성 관리에 대한 요구 사항 정립과 프레임워크 표준을 개발하고 있다. 이 표준들은 B3G 망에서의 이동성 관리 기술을 개발하기 위한 첫 번째 단계로 간주될 수 있으며 차후 B3G 이동성 관리 세부 프로토콜 개발을 위한 주요한 기반이 될것이다.
Abstract
This paper reviews the mobility management requirements and framework for B3G networks based on theworks of ITU-T SG19. It is noted that B3G networks will have different network environment from existing networks' such as an IP based core network, various kinds of access networks, and newly emerging IP based access networks. Therefore the support of seamless service for users/terminals in the B3G networks is a crucial requirement. Effective mobility management mechanism is naturally recognized as an essential technology for achieving the seamless service. ITU-T SG19 is currently developing mobility management requirements and framework to support seamless service in B3G netwarks. Current works in ITU-T SG19 could be seen as the first step to develop mobility management standards and will provide the base to develop specific mobility management protocols for B3G networks.
