본 연구는 컨조인트 설문조사로부터 얻은 자료에 기반해 조건부 로짓 수요함수를 추정하고 이로부터 얻은 추정치를 이용하여 유무선 통화수요 간 가격탄력성을 구하는 것이다. 추정결과 유무선 간 교차탄력성은 유의미한 양의 값으로 나타나 대체성이 존재함은 확인되었다. 그러나 전반적으로 현재 유선과 이동전화의 대체성은 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 유무선 대체현상이 품질, 수요 성향, 소득증가 등 요금 이외의 요인에 의해 초래되었을 가능성이 있음을 시사한다.
Abstract
This paper uses conjoint survey data to estimate the demand for fixed and mobile telephones. It is shown that the estimate of cross elasticity between fixed and mobile phones is positive and statistically significant. However, the magnitude of the elasticity is not as high as expected. This result may imply that fixed-mobile substitution is largely due to some factors such as service quality, consumer preference, and increase in income rather than the prices of using telephones.
