Abstract

Driven by digital technology and the growth of global cultural industries, Korea’s cultural and creative industries have gained prominence through their integrated structure and strong content export capacity. Since the early 2000s, when the Korean Wave (Hallyu) entered China, Korean content—such as music, drama, and games—has deeply influenced Chinese cultural consumption, sparking sustained academic interest. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of 629 journal articles published by Chinese scholars between 2000 and 2024, using data from CNKI. Through Co-Occurrence and VOSviewer tools, it visualizes research trends and knowledge structures from multiple dimensions, including keyword co-occurrence, thematic clusters, and institutional networks.Findings show that keywords such as “Hallyu,” “cultural industry,” and “Korea” consistently dominate the discourse. Research has evolved from early focus on pop culture to institutional issues like cultural policy, export strategies, and governance. Emerging topics such as the metaverse and virtual idols indicate future directions. This study provides a comprehensive overview of scholarly engagement with Korean cultural industries in China, serving as a reference for comparative cultural studies and Sino-Korean cooperation in the creative sector.
