본 연구에서는 먼저 All-IP 컨버전스를 목표로 하는 BcN(Broadband convergence Network) 프로젝 트가 성공적 으로 구현되기 위해 필요한 전제조건을 살펴본다. 특히 이를 실현하기 위한 새로운 인터넷 상호접속 대안을 모색한다. 그 결과로 본 연구는 NIBX(Neutral Internet Business eXchange)로 명명되는 hub-&-spok e 유형의 상호접속 모 형을 소개한다. 제안된 상호접속 모형의 장점과 단점을 정성적으로 분석한 뒤, 적절한 가정하에서 경제성 평가를 위한 모형을 제공하고 시뮬레이션을 통하여 경제성을 분석한다. 제안된 모형은 사업자간 상호접속 네트워크의 구조적 특성 이 단대단 QoS(end-to-end Quality of Service)를 보장하기 위해 중요하다는 기술적 전제를 바탕으로 한다. 실험 결 과, NIBX 형태의 상호접속 대안이 기존의 상호접속방식보다 효과적일 수 있는 조건들로서 ISP간 상호접속 관계의 낮 은 조밀성(interconnection density)과 높은 트래픽 밀도(traffic density) 등을 발견하였다.
Abstract
This research identifies preconditions for successful implementation of BcN (Broadband convergence Network) project under the all-IP convergence paradigm, and develops new Internet interconnection options for BcN. Introduced is a HS (Hub-&-Scope) type interconnection network, where the hub is called NIBX (Neutral Internet Business eXchange). After conducting a qualitative analysis of pros and cons of the NIBX architecture, this study presents an economic model to assess effects of the proposed method on both supplier and consumer surplus. Results from simulation experiments show that some characteristics of the interconnection network structure are critical to ensuring end-to-end QoS (Quality of Service). Furthermore, the HS-NIBX method outperforms the existing interconnection method, especially when interconnection density is low or traffic volume between ISPs is high.
