Abstract
This study examined that class norms and teacher's supervision have direct and indirect influences through attitudes towards bullying on bystanding and defending behaviors in bullying. Self-report data were collected from 458 6th grader of elementary school(male: 237, female: 221). The findings from this study are as follows. First, there are significant correlations between class norms, teacher's supervision, attitudes towards bullying, bystanding and defending behaviors. Second, the relationship between both class norms and teacher's supervision and bystanding behaviors was mediated by attitudes towards bullying. Finally, class norms have indirect influences through attitudes towards bullying on defending behaviors and teacher's supervision have not only indirect influences through attitudes towards bullying but also direct influences on defending behaviors. Implications for future research and bullying intervention were also discussed.
