가출청소년의 가출 결정 과정에 나타난 부모-자녀관계 유형 분류

본 연구는 가출 결정에 상당한 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려진 가족관계에 연구의 초점을 맞추고, 이중 가출청소년들의 가출 결정 과정에 나타난 이들의 부모-자녀관계 유형을 살펴보는 것을 그 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 대도시 지역에 거주하고 있으며 두 번 이상의 가출 경험이 있는 청소년 26명을 대상으로 개별 심층면접을 실시하여 가출 결정 과정에 대한 자료를 수집하였다. 면접 자료는 지속적인 비교분석법을 통해 분석되었고, 여기서 가출청소년들의 부모-자녀관계를 특징짓는 두 가지 요소로 부모-자녀 간 유대관계의 정도와 부모와/혹은 자녀가 보이는 행동 패턴(행동지향성)이 추출되었다. 이 두 요소를 축으로 하여 가출청소년들의 부모-자녀관계 유형을 7가지로 분류하였고, 그 유형은 변화부적응형, 기대불일치형, 책임전가형, 훈육-규율 거부형, 소극적 부모 역할형, 자유추구형, 갈등방임형이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examining the parent-child relationship types of adolescents who escaped from home in the process of experiencing runaway. Twenty six teenagers were participated in in-depth interviews to share their personal experiences of getting away from home without their family's permission. Using constant comparison method, two factors of affecting their decision to run away from home were found: (1)bonding between parents and child and (2) their behavior patterns. There were 7 types of runaway adolescents' family relationship based on the mix of these two factors: (1) lock-in, lock out, (2) refusal to discipline, (3) maladjustment to change, (4) passive parental involvement (5) neglectedness, (6) scapegoatism, and (7) discordance between expectations and realities. The meanings of how these parent-child relationships influence runaway adolescents' determination to escape and implications were discussed.
