중국인 유학생의 경찰인식 분석

초록

세계화에 따라 국내에 거주하는 외국인 유학생이 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 이 연구는 국내 거주하는 중국인 유학생의 전반적인 경찰인식과 인구학적 및 사회맥락적 변인에 따른 경찰인식의 차이를 밝히고자 하였다. 설문조사는 대구ㆍ경북지역의 소재한 대학중에서 무작위로 5개 대학을 선정한 후 대학별 중국인 유학생 50명을 대상으로 하였으며, 불성실한 응답을 제외한 201명을 분석하였다. 설문분석은 SPSS 13.0프로그램을 이용하여 빈도분석, t분석 및 ANOVA를 실시하였다. 연구수행을 통한 주요결과 및 제언은 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 중국인 유학생의 경찰인식의 수준은 대체로 양호하였으며 주민보호, 범죄예방, 위기시 대응 등이 다소 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 중국인 유학생의 성별에 있어 남학생은 여학생에 비해 전반적인 경찰인식이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 중국인 유학생의 연령은 활동만족, 범죄예방, 위기대응, 주민보호 등의 경찰인식에 있어 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 넷째, 경찰순찰 경험정도는 경찰신뢰, 야간안전, 위기대응, 주민보호 등에서 경찰인식에 유의한 차이를 나타났다. 다섯째, 경찰도움을 많은 받은 대학생은 다른 집단에 비해 전반적으로 경찰인식에 있어 높게 나타났다. 중국인 유학생의 경찰인식을 높이기 위해 주요 변인의 특성을 고려하여 보다 적극적인 다양한 활동 및 경찰인식 증진프로그램이 제공되어야 한다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse Chinese college students' perception of police. Data were gathered from 201 Chinese college students in Dageu and GyrongBuk area by random sampling. For analyzing data, SPSSWIN 13ver program was utilized with frequency, t-test and ANOVA.. The major finding of the study were as followings: First, Chinese college students perception of police were generally highly than average score. Second, gender was statistically significant variable in Chinese college students' whole perception of police and age was significant variable in perception of police with resident protection, crime prevention and emergency corresponding. Thirdly, watching experience of police patrol was significant variable and experience of police helping also was significant variable in Chinese college students' perception of police. In conclusion, the study suggests that police activity should extend to college students with high quality service.
