Abstract
Different from previous works focusing on ideology and political behavoir according to generaion gap, this paper investigates homogeneity within the same generation as well as generation differences. It finds different issue salience according to generations. It also explains why generational conflicts are serious only during the election period. Based on the survey data of 2002 and 2012, it reveals that for 40'sand 50's political ideology is critical to decide their issue positions. However, political ideology is a less important determinant to 20's and 30's. These findings implies that ideological difference will not bring political discord to the young generation.
