시대적 흐름이 물질의 시대에서 문화의 시대로 패러다임이 변화하면서, 문화는 이 시대의 모든 트렌드를 좌우하는 21세기의 키워드로 자리 잡고 있다. 이러한 변화의 요구에 부응하기 위해 도시문화의 형성에 있어 가장 중요한 요소로 등장한 것이 공공디자인이다. 공공디자인 영역 중에서도 공공시설물은 시민들에게 생활의 편의와 삶의 질 향상을 제공해준다는 측면뿐만이 아니라, 도시의 정체성을 형성하는 중요한 요소가 된다. 따라서 지역의 특성과 사용자의 요구를 반영하고, 조형요소의 분석을 통해 디자인된 성공적인 공공시설물은 고유의 도시이미지를 창출하고, 지역 활성화의 원동력이 될 것이라고 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 공공시설물에 대한 국내 ․ 외 디자인 적용사례 분석을 통해 조형요소 중 형태, 기능, 재료적 측면의 특성을 구체적으로 파악하고, 적용가능성에 대한 분석결과를 토대로 향후 공공시설물 디자인을 함에 있어 기초자료로 제안하는데 그 의의가 있다.
Abstract
As the paradigm is changing from material generation to cultural generation, culture has become a keyword of the 21st century that greatly influences all trends in this generation. To meet such demand of change, public design has risen as the most important element in formation of urban culture. Among fields of public design, public facilities improve convenient lifestyle and quality of life of citizens and it is also an important element that forms the identity of city. Therefore, successful public facilities that were designed through analysis of formative elements, which reflect characteristics of region and demand of users, are expected to create intrinsical image of city and to become a driving force of regional vitalizations. Therefore, this research investigated characteristics of shape, function and material in-depth among formative elements through analysis of domestic / overseas design application cases on public facilities and proposed it as basic data for designing public facilities based on results of analysis on applicability.
