과학문명의 발달로 인한 산업사회의 급속한 도시화는 탄생-성장-소멸이라는 과정을 거치고 있다. 도시화 과정에서 공공공간은 총체적 문화의 상징적 공간으로 시대적 패러다임과 함께 인간 정주환경에 의문을 제시하며 변화하고 있다. 인간정주환경으로의 공공공간은 세대를 아우르는 전일적, 통시적 공간의 지속가능성이 요구된다. 본 연구는 공공디자인에 생태적으로 지속가능한 요소와 도시적 표현에 관한 연구를 하고자 한다. 이에 공공디자인과 지속가능성의 정의를 고찰하고 도시의 공공공간과 지속가능성이 연계된 4가지 지속가능한 요소를 유형화한다. 유형화된 요소로 4개국 공공디자인의 사례를 통하여 도시적 표현을 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구는 도시의 공공디자인에 관한 후속논문을 예시하며 지속가능성에 관한 미래지향적 환경가치와 인류공생에 가치로 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The quick urbanization of industrial society by development of scientific civilization is passing through the process of ‘Born-Growth-Disappearance’. In the process of urbanization, public space is a symbol space of overall culture and is being changed with paradigm of the times, demurring at human environment of settlement. The public space as human environment of settlement needs the sustainability of holistic and diachronic space putting all the generations together. The purpose of the study was to study on ecologically sustainable elements and urban expression of public design. The study considered the definition of public design and sustainability and materialized four sustainable elements at the intersection of public urban space and sustainability. The study examined urban expression through cases of public design in four countries with the materialized elements. The study put a focus on sustainable future-oriented environmental value and human commensalisms by showing a sign of succeeding researches on public urban design.
