국내 디자인 공모전의 현황 연구

Abstract

(Background and Purpose)Design is the core field of the knowledge industry in the 21stcentury and the important element that determines the competitiveness of the industry. This study represents the attempt to identify the present situation in design contests and exhibits through a case study that highlights a new design and a futuristic design concept. (Method)In this study, a theoretical investigation of a design contest and exhibition was conducted by examining research from related literature including information from an onlinesearch. A case analysis, frequency analysis, and cross tabulation were performed with the data obtained. (Result)It was found that small-and medium-sized domestic firms/ or venture capital firms hosted many contests for the public regarding themes associated with visual information design over a two-week period in March and May. It is expected that the findings of this study will be used as basic data to inform the public, students and professional designers who are preparing for contest exhibits, and for studies about domestic design policy and the design industry. Additionally, it is expected that the data will be useful for corporate personnel, local governments, and agenciesin their roles as potential hosts for future design competitions.
