본 연구는 한국의 디자인 전문회사들이 R&D 투자와 국제 경쟁력을 결정하는 요인을 살펴보는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 대한상공회의소의 디자인 전문회사들을 대상으로 수행한 설문조사 결과를 활용하였다. R&D 투자 결정요인을 살펴보기 위해 선형확률모형, 로짓 모형, 프로빗 모형을 사용하였다. 또한 디자인 산업의 국제 경쟁력 결정 요인을 분석하기 위해 순서화된 로짓과 순서화된 프로빗 모형을 사용하였다. 전문 디자이너가 많을수록, 정부정책에 적극적으로 대응할수록, 기업의 규모가 클수록, 그리고 벤처기업일수록 전년대비 R&D 투자를 줄이지 않을 가능성이 높 은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 정부정책에 적극적이고, 전문디자이너 수가 많고, CEO가 디자이너 출신일수록 디자인 기업의 국제 경쟁력은 높은 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study is trying to find out factors choosing R&D investment and determining competitiveness in Korean design industry. It uses the survey data that was collected by Korea Chamber of Commerce&Industry to analyze those factors empirically. The result shows that R&D investment is proportional to the number of designers, the degree to respond to the government policy, the size of company and venture firm. The company's competitiveness is affected by the number of designers, the degree to respond to the government policy actively and the CEO's professionalism as a designer.
