(연구배경 및 목적) 국립 박물관은 국가의 역사, 문화, 예술 등을 보존하고 전시하는 단순한 전시 공간을 넘어 교육적, 사회적, 문화적 기능을 수행하는 공공 기관으로 인식되고 있다. 국가는 문화시설 확충과 기존 공간 재창조를 통해 일상에서 문화예술에 몰입할 수 있는 환경을 조성하고 있으며, 박물관은 이러한 노력의 일환으로 전시 체험의 감동을 극대화하고, 사회적 개입과 시민 참여 정신을 촉진할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 있다. 본 연구는 국립 박물관의 전시 체험이 이루어지는 공간에 대한 분석을 통해 앞으로 국립 박물관의 전시 체험 공간에 대한 역할을 모색하는 데 초점을 맞추었다. (연구방법) 국내 국립 박물관 중 전시와 교육이 결합된 사례를 대상으로 문헌 자료를 통해 전시 체험에 대한 개념과 특성을 분석하고 국립박물관에서 제공하는 연보와 홈페이지를 통해 각 국립박물관의 체험 공간 현황에 대한 데이터를 수집하며, 연구모형을 기반으로 전시 공간의 체험 형태를 분석한다. 이를 통해 체험의 다양한 유형을 탐구하고 전시 체험의 필요성과 당위성을 정리한다. 궁극적으로는 관람객을 위한 공감각적 체험 요소를 분석하여, 전시 디자인 영역에서 체험 공간 구성 방안에 대한 활용 가치를 제시하고자 한다. (결과) 분류 결과에 따른 체험 전시 형태 : 가장 높은 값은 관람 전시 형태로 나타났다. 이는 체험 전시의 기본 형태가 시각적인 관람부터 출발한다는 특징을 보여준다. 관람 전시 내 입체 요소 부재로 인한 값의 차이를 확인할 수 있었으며, 이는 입체 요소의 다양성이 평면 요소에 비해 부족하다는 것을 시사한다. 현대 전시 공간의 인터랙션 디지털 전시 활용 : 감각 전시의 청각 요소, 세트 전시의 상호작용, 독립 전시 공간의 장소 및 장면 연상에 대한 결과에 따라 디지털 전시의 활용이 국립 박물관의 전시 체험에 미치는 영향을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 디지털 전시가 적용되는 경향성을 보여주며, 향후 국립 박물관의 디지털 기술 활용 방안에 대한 연구 필요성을 시사한다. 세트 전시의 낮은 결과값과 한계성 : 세트 전시의 낮은 결과값은 국립 박물관 전시실의 평면 한계성을 나타낸다. 그러나 매개공간 내의 전시 체험 공간과 인터랙션 전시를 통한 극복 사례 확인, 추가적인 방안 연구의 필요성을 제시한다. (결론) 국립 박물관은 그 역할과 기능을 지속적으로 확장하고 있으며, 특히 시민 참여 및 전시 체험을 중심으로 한 공간적 변화가 두드러지게 나타났다. 이러한 변화는 현대 전시가 단순히 작품을 관람하는 것을 넘어서, 참여와 상호작용을 통해 지식과 감정을 형성하고자 하는 목적을 의미한다.
Abstract
(Background and Purpose) National museums have evolved from institutions that preserve and display a country's history, culture, and arts to public institutions that perform educational, social, and cultural functions beyond mere exhibition spaces. The government is creating an environment in which people can immerse themselves in culture and art in their daily lives by expanding cultural facilities and recreating existing spaces, providing opportunities to maximize the emotional impact of exhibition experiences, and promoting the spirit of social intervention and civic engagement. This study explored the future role of exhibition experience spaces in national museums through an analysis of these spaces in national museums. (Method) This study analyzed the concept and characteristics of the exhibition experience through literature on cases that combine exhibitions and education among national museums in Korea. Data were collected on the current status of experience spaces in each national museum through annual reports and websites provided by national museums, and the form of experience in exhibition spaces analyzed based on a research model. Accordingly, we explored various types of experiences and summarized the need for exhibition experiences. Ultimately, by analyzing the elements of a synesthetic experience for visitors, this study presented the utilization value of experiential spaces in exhibition design. (Results) The most frequent type of experiential exhibits was tourist exhibits. This indicates that the basic form of an experiential exhibit begins with visual viewing. The difference in frequencies was due to the absence of three-dimensional elements in the exhibition, which suggests that diversity of three-dimensional elements is lacking compared with that of flat elements. Based on the results of auditory elements in sensory exhibitions, interactions in set exhibitions, and place and scene associations in independent exhibition spaces, the impact of utilization of digital exhibitions on the exhibition experience in national museums was confirmed. This reveals a tendency to use digital exhibitions and suggests a need for future research on how to utilize digital technology in national museums. Limitations of set exhibits indicated the limitations of the flat surface of national museum exhibits. This suggests the need to identify cases that need addressing through exhibition experience spaces and interactive exhibitions in mediated spaces and to study further options. (Conclusion) National museums are constantly expanding their roles and functions, most notably through spatial changes centered on civic engagement and exhibition experiences. This shift implies that modern exhibitions are more than simply viewing artwork; they aim to shape knowledge and emotions through engagement and interaction.
