환경 인문학 담론을 위한 교과과정 개발 연구 - S대학 사례를 중심으로

환경문제에 대한 정확한 진단과 대안 모색을 위해서는 관련 학문들 간의 유기적 관계가 매우 중요하다. 그리고 대학 교육에 있어서도 이러한 문제에 대한 종합적 인식의 계기를 마련할 수 있는 교육과정 제공이 어느 때보다 강력히 요구되고 있다. 이에 따라 그간 단일 학분 영역에서 제각각 제공되고 있던 환경 담론을 보다 다각적인 측면에서 접근할 수 있는 가능성을 열어주기 위한 교육 콘텐츠의 개발이 필요한 시점이 되었다. 이러한 상황 변화와 필요성에 부응하기 위해 본 연구에서는 지금까지의 연구 동향에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 환경운동의 역사와 현재적 중요성을 짚어보았다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 다양한 학문 분야에서 환경 교육의 담론이 어떤 방향으로 진행될 수 있는지에 대한 시론적 접근을 시도해 보았다. 또한 S대학에서 2013학년도부터 개설한 <환경과 인문학> 강좌의 교과과정 개발 사례를 중심으로 인문학적 담론이 어떻게 환경문제 인식 제고에 기여할 수 있는지를 환경철학, 환경신학, 환경문학의 틀에서 제안하였다. 이를 통해 향후 대학 교과과정에서의 환경 인문학적 교육의 필요성에 대한 공감대가 확산될 수 있기를 기대하고, 아울러 문학교육을 통한 환경 인문학적 사유의 형성 가능성에 단초를 제공하는 것이 본 연구가 지닌 의미이다.
Abstract
For diagnosis for recent environmental problems and search for alternatives, the organic relationship between related disciplines is very important. To establish curriculum for interdisciplinary approach for these problems is strongly required in university education. Therefore, it is time to develop educational contents in order to open possibilities to approach with various dimension for environmental discourses which have been offered from every single field. To cope with this changed circumstance and need, this study explores the history of environmental movements and the recent meanings of those through preceding studies. Furthermore, this study tries an experimental approach for which direction the discourse of environmental education can develop to in various fields. Also, it suggests how the poetic discourse can contribute to environmental awareness under the frame of ecosophy, ecotheology, and eco-literature in the case of educational curriculum for “Environment and Humanities” opened since 2013 in S university. The meaning of this study is to expect proliferation of consensus for need of Environmental Humanities in the university’s curriculum, and to set the possible basis of forming environmental humanistic thought through literature education.
