郑梦周与朱元璋 - 明朝与高丽王朝外交关系个案分析 -

Abstract

Zhu Yuanzhang had a peaceful foreign policy for marginal state, and defeated exhaustively the ambition of Yuan’s militaristic expansion. Even if Zhu Yuanzhang treated fiercely a Goryeo’s envoy as flogging and sending into exile, he was well-mannered to Jeong mong-ju who not only had a deep foundation of Confucianism but also was proficient in Chinese language and welcomed fervently. Jeong mong-ju contributed to be exempted from the tributes for 5years as showing an excellent diplomatic abilities in the tightened relationship between two countries until holding a head of the ambassadors from the initial step of an envoy, showing himself as an excellent diplomatist besides a famous politician and writer in the Goryeo Dynasty, as handling smoothly also the strained serious problem such as asking a type of an official uniform and everyday dress in the Ming Dynasty. We can see that the Ming Dynasty changed gradually to understand the Goryeo Dynasty from suspicion and distrust in the diplomatic achievements for more ten years between Zhu Yuanzhang, the first king of the Ming Dynasty and Jeong mong-ju, the envoy of the Goryeo Dynasty. The strong root was prepared for making the amicable relationship between two countries, as being built somewhat trust relationship between the King of the Ming Dynasty and the envoy of the Goryeo Dynasty, this never changed once during the history for 270years in the Ming Dynasty.
