Abstract
This paper, based on Rosi Braidotti's 'posthuman subject' as its theoretical foundation, seeks to explore the possibility and meaning of a cartographic map of their position through the embodiment of 'human-animal' as the other within the extreme capitalist ecology spoken of through the mouth of the stray cat 'Mom' in 「Myossisaeng」. 「Myossisaeng」 is a story in which a cat becomes the speaker and talks about human society and himself, which makes us look at existing ideas about humans and animals from a critical perspective and think about the limitations of existing human-centered discourse. The dying stray cat ‘Mom’ is brought back to life by the old man, ‘Gokssi’. In the process, it mixes with the breath of the human ‘Gokssi’, and through repeated death and resurrection, is reborn as a hybrid being different from before. ‘Gokssi’ is a being that is neither a producer nor a consumer, and that survives somewhere in between, not at all included in the values of the capitalist world where production and consumption are the highest values and goals. ‘Gokssi’ and ‘Mom’, who live in the same space, survive by eating food that humans have eaten and thrown away, and are considered useless beings that go against the capitalist world because they are extremely alienated in a space where humans cannot live. In this work, the author shows the extreme alienation of 'human-animal' others and the violence shown by human-centrism, thereby confronting the question of what a human is and what we are losing. And the world seen from the perspective of 'dehumanized' beings presents a somewhat unfamiliar and new perspective to us who are accustomed to understanding the world from a human-centered perspective.
