저소득층 가구의 소득활동에 영향을 미치는 요인

Abstract

This study considered that income activity is the most important for poverty alleviation, and aimed to examine what factors influence income activity for the low-income group who can earn income activity under the age of 65. For this reason, data from the 2019 Korean Welfare Panel Survey were used. The main results were as follows: First, low-income households with income activity had younger, more males, more members and higher educational backgrounds than households without income activity. In terms of marital status, 36.9% of households who are engaged in income activities have a spouse, and 20.2% of households who are not engaged in income activities have a spouse. The rest proportion of each groups are somewhat unstable marital status, such as divorce, separation, bereavement, and unmarried. Second, the current residential real estate assets of low-income households engaged in income activities were 55.63 million won. In terms of debt, housing-related loans accounted for the largest amount at 12.25 million won. There was a significant difference in expenditure only for housing expenses. In the end, housing-related expenses in terms of assets, liabilities, and expenses are the main problems for the both group because of the highest share of monthly rent. therefore, neither group can be said to be stable in terms of the stability of residential life. Lastly, factors influencing the economic activity of the low-income group while adjusting the influence of other variables were the number of household members, annual income, annual expenditure, and basic living provision. As the number of household members increased, the likelihood of income activities increased, and households receiving basic living were less likely to engage in income activities. Also, it was found that the higher the annual income, the higherthe probability of income activity, and the higher the expenditure, the lower the probability of income activity. It was found that the main huddle to preventing poverty alleviation and hindering income activities is the problem of unstable non-regular employments and the problem of housing in the financial factors.
