본 연구는 국제 유아교원 조사(TALIS 3S)에서 제시한 직무스트레스 척도를 기반으로 우리나라 유아 교사의 직무스트레스 구조를 탐색하고, 이를 반영한 ‘한국형 유아교사 직무스트레스 척도’를 타당화하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 TALIS 3S의 직무스트레스 척도 12개 문항을 대상으로 선행연구 분석과 문헌 고찰, 문항분석 및 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하고 내용타당도 검증의 과정을 거쳤다. 이를 통해 우리나라 유아교사의 문화적⋅제도적 특수성이 반영되지 않은 SS1G45D 문항을 제외한 2요인 11문항의 척도를 확정하였다. 하위요인은 ‘유아 요인’과 ‘업무 요인’으로 도출되었으며, 이는 기존 TALIS 3S의 3요인 구조와 구별되는 결과로, 우리나라의 맥락적 특성을 반영한 구조로 해석된다. 최종 척도는 우리나라 유아교사의 직무스트레스 특성을 보다 구체적으로 설명할 수 있는 타당한 도구로, 향후 유아교사 대상 직무스트레스 연구 및 교육의 질을 높이기 위한 정책적⋅실천적 방안의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다.
Abstract
This study aimed to validate the Korean Early Childhood Education and Care Teacher Work Stress Scale, developed based on the work stress scale from the Starting Strong Survey (TALIS 3S) conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). To this end, twelve items from the TALIS 3S work stress scale were analyzed through a review of prior research, literature analysis, item analysis, and exploratory factor analysis, followed by a content validity verification. Based on the findings, item SS1G45D was excluded due to misalignment with the cultural and institutional context of Korean ECEC teachers. As a result, a final scale comprising 11 items across two factors was confirmed. The two identified factors—Child-related Stressors and Job-related Stressors —differ from the original three-factor structure of TALIS 3S, reflecting the unique contextual characteristics of the Korean ECEC environment. The finalized scale serves as a valid tool for more accurately assessing the work stress among Korean ECEC teachers and provides a foundation for future research, as well as for developing policy and practical strategies to enhance the quality of early childhood education.
