아동학대 재발 방지를 위해서는 대상자별 개별 서비스뿐 아니라 학대가 발생한 가족이 스스로를 이해하고 학대로 진행되는 순환적 환류 고리를 차단할 사고의 전환이 필요하다. 본 연구는 증가하는 아동학대 재발예방의 한 방법으로 학대피해아동과 학대행위자 및 비가해부모 등 가족전체를 대상으로 하는 접근방법을 개발, 시행하고 그 효과를 분석하였다. 아동학대 재발가족의 특성과 우리나라 현장의 서비스 현황 분석결과, 가족단위 서비스의 부족과 문제중심 접근에 따른 해당가족의 서비스 기피현상 등이 지적되어 학대가정이 갖는 거부감과 낙인감을 최소화할 수 있는 대안적 접근으로 이야기치료에 착안하였다. 구체적으로는 8회기의 가족치료프로그램을 개발하여 이를 12개 아동보호전문기관의 60개 아동학대가정 구성원과 시행한 후 부모와 피해아동에 대한 양적 조사와 상담일지 내용을 분석하였다. 이야기치료의 철학에 근거한 이 프로그램을 경험한 내담자들이 자신의 학대이야기를 해체하여 대안적 이야기를 구성하고 이를 가족과 주변사람들과 나누면서 치유하고 인정받는 것으로 나타나 학대재발을 방지하기 위한 또 하나의 가족치료 접근으로서의 효과가 인정되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop and to evaluate a family therapy approach based on narrative therapy to prevent recurring child abuse. The narrative family therapy program promotes participation of every member of the family into the treatment process. The program was designed to carry out narrative family therapy on 60 families of 12 local child protection service agencies for child abuse recurrence. Eight sessions included three couple sessions, one family sessions and four group sessions aimed to bring insights upon the abusive situation and strengthen the family functions. The program was evaluated by both quantitative and qualitative methods. Parenting behavior, parents’ self-efficacy, communication skills, and anger management proved to be positively improved. The qualitative results show that the narrative family therapy was effective in removing the stigma of the abusive parents and also in opening them up to tell their life story. The parents found the solution by themselves in the process of deconstructing the story of abuse and finding the alternative story. The results of the Focus Group Interview with participating therapists indicated that the narrative family therapy showed differentiation of client toward therapy sessions which lead to higher efficacy and higher satisfaction level.
