부모의 발달장애 자녀 자기결정에 대한 인식이 그 수준에 미치는 영향 -자기결정 기회 제공 및 지원 수행의 다중매개효과를 중심으로 -

초록

이 연구는 발달장애 자녀의 자기결정에 대한 부모의 인식이 자녀의 자기결정 수준에 영향을미치는 과정에서 가정에서의 자기결정 기회 제공과 지원 수행의 매개효과를 탐색하고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 학령기 이상 발달장애 자녀의 부모를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 구조방정식 모형을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 부모의 발달장애 자녀에 대한 자기결정 지원수행은 자녀의 자기결정 수준에 정적 영향을 미쳤으며, 자기결정 기회 제공은 통계적 유의미성에 근접한 수준에서 정적 영향을 미치고 있었다. 또한 부모의 자기결정에 대한 인식은 자녀의 자기결정 수준에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았으나, 자기결정 기회 제공과 자기결정 지원수행을 매개하여 자녀의 자기결정 수준을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 발달장애인의 자기결정 수준을 향상시키기 위해서는 부모의 역할이 매우 중요함을 확인하였고, 그 지원 방향을 제시하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the mediating effect of providing opportunities for self-determination at home and performing support in the process that parents’ perceptions of self-determination of children with developmental disabilities affect their children’s self-determination level. To this end, a survey was conducted on parents of children with developmental disabilities above school age and analyzed using a structural equation model. As a result of the study, the parents’ performance of self-determination support for their children with developmental disabilities had a positive effect on the child’s self-determination level, and the provision of self-determination opportunities had a positive effect at a level close to statistical significance. In addition, although parents’ perception of self-determination did not directly affect their children’s level of self-determination, it was found that the level of self-determination of children was increased by providing opportunities for self-determination and performing support for self-determination. In order to improve the self-determination level of people with developmental disabilities, it was confirmed that the role of parents is very important and the direction of support was presented
