백철의『신문학사조사』개작에 관한 연구

Abstract

This paper aims to compare Baek Cheol's Choseon-sinmunhak-sajosa(The History of The Trend of Modern Korean literature, 1948～1949) with its revised version, Sinmunhak-sajosa(1968). Choseon-sinmunhak-sajosa was widely revised when it was published in another edition, which was bounded in the complete works of Baek Cheol and got another name, Sinmunhak-sajosa. Since it was bounded in Baek's complete work, Sinmunhak-sajosa has been regarded as an authorized edition of Baek's literary history among researchers. However, Sinmunhak-sajosa was not the same with the original text. The distinctively revised parts could be summarized as follows : a considerable application of the perspectives of comparative literature, critical description on works of the proletarian literature, an affirmative focus on pure literature and writers of the nationalism group, and an material addition to the explanation of the new-drama movement and to the resistance literature. In Sinmunhak-sajosa, Baek couldn't keep the ideological openness and impartiality of the original text. Therefore, the original text seems to be more preferable than the revised one bounded in the complete works of Baek Cheol for researchers to study on Baek's literary history.
