고전문학을 활용한 대중가요의 종합적 고찰

Abstract

We listen to music continuously on the street or in a bus, take a rest or before going to sleep. Music is indispensable necessities of our living. Besides, advances digital technology are developed mass media, and the demands of music contents are growing bigger. As a result, popular songs which utilized the classical literature continues to expend. But we didn't consider popular songs which utilized the classical literature by and large so far. Furthermore, there is a no valid research that its studies on the method of develop. Therefore, this article concentrated on the most urgent issue, organization the resources systematically of popular songs which utilized the classical literature and their mode of adaptation. This helps popular songs interested to make new music contents based on our classical literature. Unexpectedly, there are a lot of popular songs which utilized the classical literature, and these can be classified roughly into four types like popular songs borrowed from the classical poetry of Old Korea(<Gongmudohaga>, <Hwangjoga>, <Jeongeupsa>), the classical novels of Old Korea(<Heungbo is stunned>, folk tales(<The Fairy and The Woodcutter>), the classic authors of Old Korea(<Hwang Jin-i>, <Kim Satkat>) etc. Their modes of adaptation also vary widely. Because they're so short, the classical poetry are often set the original text to music as it is. But long classical novels and folk tales are made a song which was extracted central scene or based on outline. Classic authors are often borrowed their works or lifes into songs. In this way, if we want to make the classical literature into popular songs, we can not only express our indigenous emotion in songs but also help to popularize classical literature.
