고려인을 위한 한국어교육 관련 연구의 현황과 특징

이 연구에서는 지난 40년간(1985-2024년) 수행된 고려인 대상 한국어교육 관련 연구 104편을 분석하여 시기별, 집단별, 주제별 동향과 특징을 파악하였다. 고려인 대상 한국어교육 관련 연구의 초기에는 해외 거주 한인 학자를 중심으로 현지 재외동포 고려인의 언어 실태 및 한국어교육 현황을 다루었으며, 1990년대 중반 이후 국내 연구자에 의한 연구가 본격적으로 수행되면서 고려인의 언어적 정체성과 한국어 사용 실태 연구가 본격화되었다. 2000년대 이후 교재, 교육과정 등 교육 현장에 필요한 교육 방안 연구가 증가하였으며, 2010년대 후반부터는 국내 거주 고려인의 정착과 문화 적응, 구체적인 교수학습 방안을 다루는 실용적 연구가 활발히 이루어졌다. 특히 2010년대부터는 연구의 초점이 국내 거주 고려인으로 이동하였으며, 연구 대상자의 연령이 아동과 청소년을 중심으로 다양화되었다. 주제별로는 정체성 및 언어 실태 연구가 가장 큰 비중을 차지하였고, 교육 현황 및 정책, 교육 방법, 교육 내용 연구가 그 뒤를 이었다. 특히 최근에는 문화 적응, 학습 동기, 태도 등을 다룬 연구가 늘어나고 있으며, 중도입국 청소년 등 세부 집단을 고려한 교육 연구도 증가하였다. 향후 고려인 집단의 다층적 특성을 반영하여 관련 연구를 다양한 방향으로 확대해 나갈 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This study analyzes 104 research papers on Korean language education for Goryeoin conducted over the past 40 years (1985–2024) to identify trends and characteristics by period, group, and topic. Initial research efforts were primarily led by Korean scholars residing overseas, focusing on the linguistic realities and educational status of overseas Goryeoin. Since the mid-1990s, domestic researchers have increased, leading to the expansion of studies on Goryeoin's linguistic identity and their use of Korean. From the 2000s onward, research on educational measures necessary for language education, such as textbooks and curricula, has grown. Since the late 2010s, there has been an increase in practical studies addressing the settlement, cultural adaptation, and specific teaching-learning strategies for Goryeoin residing in Korea. During this period, the research focus shifted more clearly toward Goryeoin residing in Korea, and the age range of research subjects diversified, with an emphasis on children and youth. Regarding the topics, studies on identity and language use constituted the largest proportion, followed by research on educational status and policy, teaching methods, and educational content. Recently, there has been a notable increase in studies on cultural adaptation, learning motivation, and attitudes, as well as research focused on specific groups, such as immigrant youth. Future research should be further diversified to reflect the multilayered characteristics of the Goryeoin population.
