초록

The purpose of this study is to review the current status of Arirang that has been handed down in the Yecheon area and to reveal the musical identity of Yecheon Arirang by analyzing the types of Arirang that have been handed down and the characteristics of Yecheon Arirang. The Arirang of the Yecheon region researched in 『MBC Hangug-Min-yo-Daejeon』, 『Hangug-Gubi-Munhag-Daegye』, Lee So-ra's 『Yecheon Folk Song Collection』, Kang Won-hee's 『Yecheon Arirang and Songs of the Yecheon Region』, etc. JajinArari had the most. And Yecheon Arirang by Yang Ok-gyo and Lee Sang-hyu, the representative singers of Yecheon Arirang, appeared as a reduced or derived/developed form of JajinArari. Gangwon-do Arirang, known as JajinArari, was a musical song that had the second highest number of album releases and broadcasts after Miryang Arirang during the Japanese colonial period. It was popular not only in Gangwon-do but also throughout the country, and had an influence on the entire inland area of Yeongnam. Yecheon Arirang is also considered a form derived from this influence. Gangwon-do Arirang has a structure that gradually increases from low notes to high notes, and the sound width is wide at 10 degrees. However, in Yang Ok-gyo and Lee Sang-hyu's Yecheon Arirang, the note width has been reduced to 7 degrees, and the melody also repeats the refrain and verse in the same melody or omits or reduces it. As the wide sound range of Gangwon-do Arirang gradually narrowed, the chorus was naturally eliminated, or the melody of the private part was repeated as a refrain, and the melody was sung in a free form depending on the instrument. It is considered that this gradually became entrenched and was passed down as Arirang, which has characteristics unique to the Yecheon region today.
