아방가르드와 유희의 미학- 페루 아방가르드 시를 중심으로

주지하다시피 20세기 역사적 아방가르드(vanguardia histórica)운동은 1차 세계 대전을 전후로 당대의 지적, 문화적 인식의 변환을 담아낼 새로운 예술의 형태를 고민하던 작가들이, 전환기 사회의 불안과 위기의식을 표출하고자 한 예술적 혁명의 외침이었다. 이러한 아방가르드 예술 운동이 태동하게 된 사회적 배경에는 다윈, 니체, 베르그송, 프로이트 등이 과학적, 철학적, 정신분석학적 연구를 통해 확실성 혹은 과학적 합리주의에 반(反)하는 지적 담론을 제공하였고 이는 인식론적 전환을 통한 예술의 총체적 혁명을 꿈꾸는 작가들의 작품으로 형상화되었다. 서구에서 시작된 아방가르드 운동은 라틴아메리카에서 첨예한 논쟁을 일으키며 수용되었고 전위주의 작가들은 전통을 거부하고 관습과 결별하기 위해 다양한 방법론적 모색을 진행하였다. 이 때 아방가르드 문학의 특징 중의 하나인 유희 혹은 놀이성은 기존의 전통과 질서를 비틀어 보고 해체하며 근대의 활력과 역동적 풍경을 재현할 중요한 요소였고, 이는 글쓰기의 형식에 있어 구문론의 파괴, 비유기적인 구성, 칼리그람의 사용 등으로 나타났으며, 과학기술의 발전을 통한 새로운 운송수단과 스포츠의 대중적 확산은 전위작가가 근대의 활력과 역동성을 작품에 표상할 주요 소재로 차용되었다. 따라서 본고에서는 유희와 놀이적 요소에서 시작된 스포츠와 영화 같은 새로운 소재를 차용하여 쓴 작품을 통해, 페루 아방가르드 문학에 나타난 유희성을 고찰해 보았다.

Abstract

As is well known, the historical avant-garde movement of the 20th century was a cry of artistic revolution to express the insecurity of the society at its turning point and the awareness of crisis by writers who were agonized over the new art form able to capture the transformation of the intellectual and cultural perception of the age throughout the World War I. The avant-garde movement socially owed its birth to the intellectual discourse, provided by Darwin, Nietzsche, Bergson and Freud through scientific, philosophical and psychoanalytic studies, against the scientific rationalism and the certainty, which in turn was materialized as artistic works by the writers who dreamed of a general revolution of art through an epistemological transition. This movement, started in the West, was embraced in Latin America out of heated controversies, and the avant-garde writers rejected the traditions and pursued a variety of methodological exploration to break away from the convention. Playfulness or ludus, one of the characteristics of the avant-garde literature, was an important tool to twist and dismantle the existing order and traditions and reproduce the energetic and dynamic landscape of modernity. This resulted in the destruction of syntax, the inorganic composition and the use of Calligrammes. The avant-garde writers used new forms of transportation, resulted from scientific developments, and the mass diffusion of sports in representing the vitality and dynamism of modern time. Given this context, this study looks into the playfulness of the Peruvian avant-garde literature by examining those poems that dealt with new elements such as sports and movies.
