신경림 시의 로컬리티적 관점에서 본 여성성 연구

Abstract

On account of globalization, borders between nations and their identity are getting unclear, and along with that, the identity of locals is also getting lost. But the degree of it is not identical worldwide. When they are farther from the sight of the center, the locals rather get to form the third space with their own uniqueness and dailiness. The third space is the daily space of decenteredness that is not defined by the state or the capital. The subjects in it have organic relations with the place and establish the placeness deeply rooted. The principle oriented to relationship with objects is one of the characteristics penetrating femininity and also the view of the world pursued by femininity at the same time. The study on femininity seen from the perspective of locality in Sin Gyeong-rim’s poems is a work to restore women as hidden subjects guarding the identity of locals. It intends to show locality and femininity can be the value of alternative society alienated from central ideology. Sin Gyeong-rim’s poems embody literarily how in the patriarchal system, women under the mechanism of the repressed depart from their status as peripheral locals pushed out from central ideology and embrace the world and provide vitality. It is concretely shown as women giving vitality to locals subjectively through their body in organic relations with nature. Also, the maternal instinct of women is shown as roots perpetuating locals’ unique warmness and plainness as absolute value to overcome the evils resulted from the central logic of the modern times. Ultimately, with his poems, Sin Gyeong-rim paradoxically says that it is needed to recover women’s identity as subjects in order to have locals get rid of the threats of capital to bring homogenization and reveal its discrimination and accordingly exert the potentials that are deficient in the center. This study is significant in that it presents an alternative area to the matter of locals repressed by power or ideology.
