고지도상의 「우산도」 명칭에 관한 연구 -「석도=독도」 규명을 중심으로-

Abstract

This is the research that Dokdo is Korean territory. there is Seokdo in the Chikryeong 41. This Seokdo is Dokdo. there is Ulleungdo and Usando in the old map and the document. The Usando is Dokdo in the this map. So this research is that Usando is the type of 4 kinds. First, the Usando is east, west, north and south. than Ulleungdo It is that two islands Usando and Ulleungdo exist in East Sea. Second, the Usando exists east, south and north than Ulleungdo. It is because An Yong Bok directly discovered this Dokdo. Third, the Usando exists east and south than Ulleungdo. It located the same place Dokdo of today. Fourth, the Usando marked in Chukdo(Bamboo island) of now. It is wrong. Chousen goverment emptied Ulleungdo. But managed Ulleungdo as Chousen(Korea) territories. Chousen government official went to Ulleungdo. In that time government official cannot see Dokdo from Ulleungdo. But, Ulleungdo and Usando was knowed a Chousen territory. So they marked Usando beside Ulleungdo. But the location is differentwith Dokdo of today But they clearly remenbered that the Usando is Chousen(Korea) territory. And on 1882 Korea opened up Ulleungdo. many person started to live in Ulleungdo, Ulleungdo people saw the name of Dokdo. Also Japan people secretly came and lived into Ulleungdo. The Korea government recorded Seokdo as Korean territory in the document. The name of Seokdo and Dokdo mean rock islands.
