본 연구는 작품 『煙管』속에 주인공뿐만 아닌 주변인물 소슌(宗俊), 료테쓰(了哲), 세 충신들이 어떻게 <世間>을 바라보고 있는 가를 시점을 중심으로 텍스트를 분석하면서 고찰했다. 각각의 등장인물들이 <世間>이라고 하는 것을 어떻게 의식하고 있는 가를 살펴보았으며 또한 제각각의 인물이 <世間>에 어떻게 얽매여 행동의 변화를 가져오는 가를 분명하게 알 수 있었다. 작품 속의 나리히로와 소슌, 료테쓰, 세 충신들의 행동 모습에서 <世間>은 각 등장인물의 내면을 이해하기 위한 중요한 키워드라고 생각한다. 또한 『煙管』에서 나리히로는 자신의 행, 불행을 <世間>의 판단에 의해 좌지우지되고 있으며 <世間>사람들의 의식과 관심과 주목에 따라 자신의 백만 석을 자랑스럽게 느끼고 있는 인물로 그려지고 있다. 즉 <世間>이 주인공의 성장과정과 성격의 변화에 중요한 요소로서 설정되고 있는 것은 아닐까 생각한다. 비록 좁은 시야로 이 작품 소재인 담뱃대를 예로 들었지만 거시적으로 살펴본다면 이 담뱃대의 재료의 변화로 인해 일본 에도시대에서 근대로 넘어가는 일본의 경제변화와 사회상의 과정도 추측해 볼 수 있다. 이것을 도식으로 나타내면 금-은-동-금의 변화와 같이 사회도 변화하지 않았나 생각한다.
Abstract
This study was carried out analyzing the text centering the time point of dividing how it looking at the world from tree fidelities, such as Sosun, Ryotetu who are the centering persons in the work of ‹Tobacco›We look around how each appearing persons will be conscious to <seken> and so we could clearly know how it gets the action change after being tired down. From acting future by Narihiro and Soshun and Totess in the works, we think that <seken> is the important keyweed to be understood the inside for the appearing persons. And also, Narihiro in Tobacco has at his beck and call in his fortune and un-fortune by judge of the world and according to consciousness and concerns in <seken>, he has known as the person who feels proud of millionaire of himself. That is, we think that is <seken> the important factor to change the growing process and change of mind. even if he has exampled the smoking pipe as his narrow field of view, however, if we macroscopically look, we can imagine compulsory change and can look to conjecture the social process of Japan to overcome to the modern age from Edo era in Japan. If we appear to draw, we imagine that we think the society may be changed as well as change of as same as <Gold→Silver→Copper-→Gold>.
