현대소설에 나타난 도시 공간의 위상학 연구 - 최인호 소설을 중심으로

Abstract

Considering the main features of the modern novel to reappear urban space, especially it is noteworthy that Choi In-ho is a writer deeply discussing the problems of urban space in the 1970s. He understands the problem of urbanization as not only the speed to conquer space but also the changes of lifestyle being the essence of breakthrough. Therefore, the city in his work is depicted as a space including human and capital, information and culture, even capturing the public’s desire. It means the urban space incorporated into the capitalist order in South Korea in the 1970s,and the space of active borrowers on the changes in the consciousness of the subject If the fictional city of Choi In-ho is premised as the faithful reappearance of modern capitalist society, while researchers looking at geomorphological visual pay their attention to the appearance of the city, topological point of view researchers ask the elements that remain in the novel. This study is not interpreting the city as a subjective meaning. It is looking over how the expansion of capitalism urban space in the 1970s meets the sensitivity of Choi In-ho, and notes that the writer’s topological attitude chasing how the subject (person) reacts to the production of space. Choi In-ho does not seek directly to breakouts of urban space. Rather, he accepts the city as the space of reality and life by rejecting hackneyed myths about organic community. He appropriately placed in the space various cultural factors of commercial and public consumption such as advertising and film, sub-culture of young people and capital, the collective consciousness resistant to established norms,In this process, the writer shows the subject’s willingness to respond for the loss of place. On the other hand, historic old city was built in a way that ruled out the existing personal memories, Choi In-ho considered first the lives of human beings living in these cities and then showed frankly the way that the spacial creation of capitalism make them lose their feelings and memories.
