1970년대 공동체의 논리와 인정의 수사학: 이문구 소설을 중심으로

Abstract

This research investigated the community logic of the subject for the ideological control and resistance and the aspect of recognition struggle through 1970s' Lee, mungu's novel. Lee, mungu practiced recognition struggle of subject through the narration of resistance and conquest in the modernization process and groping of alternative community. So-called violent modernity of 1970s requires identity and uniformity and completely excludes different things as others, that are not embraced by this identity. Between this distorted type capitalism economic logic and anticommunism ideology, aim for the community through ethical awareness of the subject and self explanation is a very difficult problem. Resistance to the unfairness as the moral standard in Lee, mungu's novel, can be said to be the overcome process of materialization through ‘recognition struggle’ in the aspect of criticism on the capital power that exploits labor. Rhetoric of recognition in Lee, mungu's novel is easily regarded as the logic of adaptation to ruling ideology. Actually, recognition thesis to acknowledge the current (ruling) state can be most useful for control power. In this regard, Axel Honneth's ‘Recognition Struggle Model’ could reveal the gap from the ideology criticism viewpoint and the basis of negative evaluation of Lee, mungu's novel. However, Lee, mungu's method of imagining community is regarded as a very significant attempt, in respect that the recognition of subject on the unfair reality was the starting point of resistance, also, it showed an alternative to overcome the individual subject cognition seized by ideology through communal logic.
