Abstract

This research paper is aims to study of Gobong Gi Daeseung's poetry. This paper is an attempt to illustrate Correlation between scholarly spirit and literary works included in Gobong Gi Daeseung's poetry. He was expressed teaching that it is important to live right with a good mind. Also, He was expressed a constant effort to be a good scholar and a wise person. His poems always contained the mind of a teacher who finds out the value of life and teaches them in detail for his disciples. He wrote poetry about how to read well. And he expressed the true meaning of reading in poetry. He thought it important to be content with his life even though he was not rich. He therefore said that maintaining the peace of mind depends not on living in a rich but on a life that is always satisfying. His teachings in the poetry of Gobong Gi Daeseung on related the leaning and the thought are his voice as a scholar and his will for learning. His poetry, therefore, presented the right goal for the student to be a scholar. In conclusion, what is important in his poetry is to practice virtue and control his mind. The real academic course is inseparable from the process of personality growth. There is a truth in his poetry that hopes to contribute to the nation with a great number of excellent personalities.
