산림 치유 프로그램이 초등학생 정신 건강 회복에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 산림치유 프로그램이 지역아동센터를 이용하는 초등학생의 정신건강 회복에 미치는 영향을 알아봄으로 산림치유가 초등학생의 정신건강 수준 회복을 위해 적합한 치유활동이며 정신건강 증진을 위한대안 활동임을 입증하기 위해 실행되었다. 실험을 위해 충청북도 청주시 지역아동센터(7곳)에 이용하는 3~6학년 초등학생 53명을 대상으로 정신건강진단(AMHI) 검사지를 이용하여 사전 검사를 거치고 정신건강수준에 따라 비교집단을 구성하였다. 그리고 2박 3일 동안 산림의 건강 기능과 산림건강 요법, 치유 대상자의 자기치유과정을 초점으로 하는 프로그램을 새롭게 구성하여 실행하였다. 연구 결과, 정신건강이 가장 악화된 집단에서짧은 캠프 기간만으로도 현재건강수준, 미래건강수준, 심리적안녕감이 유의하게 높아졌고 만성피로와 심리적불편감이 유의하게 낮아졌으며 목표지향성 및 총심리적자원과 총정신건강 수준 등 8개 영역에서 유의하게 사전-사후의 차이가 나타나 정신건강수준이 향상된 결과를 보였다. 또한 통계적으로 유의하지 않았지만 짧은 기간만으로도 문제행동 가능성의 사전-사후 변화가 있음이 나타났다. 본 연구에서 산림치유 활동은 아동의 스트레스와 정신건강 문제를 예방하고 정신건강이 악화된 아동들의 정신건강 회복에 효과적인 치유활동으로 적합하다는결과를 도출하였다. 이에 산림치유프로그램은 초등학생의 정신건강 치유 및 예방을 위한 대안활동으로 적극 시행해야 한다.
Abstract
This study was examined the Forest Healing Program(FHP) which adjusts as healing methods and alternative activities for promoting mental health. By using FHP, we analyzed the mental health improvement effects of the program for the elementary school students attending local children's center, and the subjects recruiting and analyzing methods are as followings. Subjects were total 53 students registered in the Chungcheongbuk-do Cheongju local children's centers and their grade range is from the third to sixth grade. The subjects were pre tested by mental health diagnosis(AMHI). From the results of the test, we could divide groups, which were composed as comparison group depending on their mental health level. The forest healing camp was composed as 2 nights 3days camp and new program contents were health functions of forests and forest health treatments which focused on self healing for those who need healing. As a result, a group which had high risk of the mental health shows significant improvement of that during very short camp at the forest. For the high risk group, the forest healing camp program significantly improved mental health level, future health level, psychological wellness and that significantly lowered the level of chronic fatigue and psychological discomfort. On the other hand, they had a difference between pre and post tests for the eight sectors which include goal orientation, total psychological resources and mental health level. Also, we found little changes in possible problematic behavior through the pre and pro test, even the results were not statistically significant by the short period camp therapy. This research found that the forest healing program is suitable for preventing the elementary school students' stress and mental health problem and recovering children's mental health as healing activities. Thus, the results of this paper strongly suggest that the forest healing program have to be enforced as alternative activities for healing and preventing children’s mental health.
