한국에서의 텍스트 의미 연구 현황과 과제

This paper analyzes the published research journals on Korean text linguistics that could be notably categorized into ‘Korean semantic research’ so as to examine the actual conditions of text semantics research and its future directionality. The analysis of text description models shows that the perspective of interpreting textual meaning is broadly divided into three categories: 1) textㅡcentered, 2) producerㅡcentered, 3) recipientㅡcentered. Besides, this paper examines the research contents pertaining to the textual meanings in each description model, and it, further, conceptualizes the analyzed results into three categories: 1) grammatical coherence, 2) thematic coherence, 3)pragmatical coherence. More specifically, the research journals on Korean text semantics not only tend to be more concentrated on grammatical coherence and thematic coherence than pragmatical coherence but also tend to be more focused on the application of the current concepts rather than any kind of theoretical investigation. Some of the potential topics for future research are suggested as follows. Researchers are suggested 1) to approach coherence with a more integrated perspective in order to clarify textual meaning, 2) to examine the unique semantic phenomena characterized in Korean text, 3) to find a variety of interdisciplinary approaches with critical discourse analysis, corpus linguistics etc., 4) to expand its data gathering domain into foreign Korean text, webㅡbased texts, multiple texts, etc., 5) to lead a cooperative collaboration with other neighboring disciplines such as literature, Korean eduction etc.
