TV드라마와 도시문화콘텐츠 ―[도쿄 러브스토리]와 [도쿄 센티멘탈]을 중심으로―

Abstract

[Tokyo Love Story] and [Tokyo Sentimental] are broadcast 25 years different from the times. However, these dramas appeal to viewers of the same generation in Japan who are currently in their mid-50s. [Tokyo Love Story] and [Tokyo Sentimental] are lovestories of an immigrant and Tokyo native, respectively. Although Tokyo is a city of fashion, the aesthetics of the Edo period are also appealing as a coexisting stable space. To convey this to viewers, in the dramas, Tokyo is clearly shown through pan focusing. [Tokyo Sentimental] is an “urban love story” that emphasizes not only contents but also information about urban space. Takujo, the protagonist, enjoys the aesthetics of Edo and the sophistication of modern Tokyo at the same time. The aesthetics of Tokyo Shitamachi through Takuzo lead to the culture of “New-tro,” which is currently popular in Korea. Therefore, the technique of introducing the urban love story and the stylish Tokyo culture of Takujo, attempted in [Tokyo Sentimental], could be considered an effective way for promoting the urban cultural contents of Seoul.
