일본 원폭문학 고찰 -구리하라 사다코의 『히로시마라고 말할 때』를 중심으로-

Abstract

This paper analyzes the poem “When We Say ‘Hiroshima’” by Sadako Kurihara, a poet who has made a mark in Japanese atomic bomb literature. This poem is the first in Japan to express that the Japanese atomic bomb victims were not victims of the atomic bombing, but a product of Japanese persecution. The more Kurihara talked about the American aggression while she was campaigning against the Vietnam War, the more she realized that Japan was also a perpetrator. By analyzing the Pacific War from various angles, she confirmed the reality of Japan's perpetrators. Namely, Japan first announced the scheme of both victims and perpetrators. This fact alone makes it worth studying Sadako's poem. However, the atomic bomb issue is no longer just a problem for Japan, but all of us, and it is not a problem of the past, but an ongoing problem. I conducted a discussion by reading the poem with my students. The book report that describes how students read the poem and their thoughts about the atomic bomb literature has been a valuable resource for this paper and introduced the full text.
