경기도 외국인 이주자의 인구학적 속성과 도시의 경제적 특징간의 관계

본 연구에서는 경기도 외국인 이주자의 연령별 구성 및 성별 구성이 도시의 산업구성에 따른 경제적 특징과가지는 관계를 고찰했다. 외국인 이주자의 인구학적 속성과 신분 구성은 거주를 목적으로 하는 이주자의 비중이 커짐에 따라, 청년과 남자의 비중은 감소하고 장년과 여자의 비중이 증가했다. 인구학적 속성은 개별 도시의 지리적위치, 도시화 수준, 도시경제의 특성에 따라 차이가 있으며, 31개 시군은 5개의 유형으로 범주화되었다. 외국인 이주자수와 업종별 종사자수 사이의 상관관계를 통해 볼 때, 제조업, 숙박 및 음식점업, 운수 및 창고업, 건설업, 도매 및소매업 등이 외국인을 흡인하는 주요 업종으로 확인되었다. 많은 외국인 이주자가 제조업이 발달한 도시에 거주하지만, 새롭게 진입하는 이주자의 이주목적이 다양해짐에 따라 서비스업이 발달한 도시에서도 외국인 이주자의 규모가 증가했다. 외국인 이주자의 인구속성은 이주목적이 다양해지고 업종별 노동력의 수요가 상이해서, 도시의 경제적 특징에 따라 차별적으로 전개된다.
Abstract
This study examined the relationship between demographic attributes based on the age structure and sex structure of foreign immigrants and the economic characteristics based on the number of business workers in Gyeonggido. The demographic attributes and identity composition of foreign immigrants have changed as the proportion of immigrants aimed at residence has increased. Demographic attributes varied depending on the geographical location, level of urbanization, and urban economy of individual cities, and 31 cities were categorized into 5 types. Through the correlation between the size of foreign immigrants and the number of workers, manufacturing industry, accommodation and food service industry, transportation and warehousing industry, construction industry, wholesale and retail trade industry are major sectors that attract foreign immigrants. Although many foreign immigrants live in cities where manufacturing industry has developed, the size of foreign immigrants has also increased in cities where the service industry has developed as the purpose of immigration of new immigrants has diversified. The demographic attributes of foreign immigrants are differentiated according to the economic characteristics of the city, as the purpose of immigration is diverse and the demands for labor vary depending on the urban economy.
