자족형 신도시 건설에 따른 화성시의 공간 재구조화: 공간상호작용을 사례로

본 연구는 화성시에 신도시가 개발된 이후 나타난 공간상호작용의 변화를 통해 도시공간의 재구조화를 고찰했다. 화성시의 통행중심지는 신도시 개발 이후 대규모의 신도시가 개발된 지역으로 이전했으며, 도시화의 진행이 미약한 지역에서는 공간상호작용의 변화가 뚜렷하지 않았다. 화성시의 동쪽에서 시가화구역을 중심으로 형성되었던 통행패턴은 신도시 개발 이후 분리 현상을 보였다. 자족기능이 강한 동탄신도시를 중심으로 이루어진 다수의 통행패턴은 신도시내에서 단거리 통행의 규모가 크다는 것을 보여준다. 화성시에서는 신도시 개발 이후 대규모의 자족형 신도시를 표방한 밀집시가지로 통행의 중심지가 옮겨가면서 다원화된 통행패턴이 전개될 것으로 전망된다. 향남신도시를 중심으로 형성된 통행패턴의 비중은 강해졌지만 남양신도시를 중심으로 하는 통행패턴의 비중은 약화되었다. 화성시에 건설된 대표적 신도시인 동탄신도시가 자족형 신도시를 목적으로 개발됨에 따라 화성시 전체적으로는 주변도시에 대한 의존도가 감소했지만, 기성시가지와 신도시 사이의 생활권 분리 및 신시가지와비도시지역 사이의 생활권 분리 현상이 확인된다.
Abstract
This study examined the restructuring of urban space through the change of spatial interaction after the development of a new town in Hwaseong-si. Since the development of the new town, the traffic center has moved to the area where a large-scale new town was developed. In the region where the urbanization progress is weak, the change of spatial interaction is not clear. The traffic area centered on the urbanized area, which was formed in the eastern part of Hwaseong-si has been separated since the development of Dongtan new town. Several traffic areas centered on Dongtan new town, which has a strong self-sufficiency function, show that the scale of short-haul trip is large in the new town. Since the development of the new town, it is expected that diversified traffic area will be developed as the center of the trip moves toward the densely populated city where the large self-contained new town was built. The proportion of the traffic area formed centering on Hyangnam new town was strengthened, but the proportion of traffic area formed centering on Namyang new town was weakened. As Dongtan new town has been developed as a self-contained new town, Hwaseong-si has decreased its reliance on neighboring cities. Segregation of traffic areas between new towns and old towns, and between newly urbanized areas and non-urban regions has appeared.
