Abstract

Purpose of this paper is to survey characters and tasks of grammar part in 8th korean curriculum(revised: December 26th, 2006). This curriculum consists of NCC(National Common Curriculum) and SSC(Selectional Subject Curriculum). Above all, it is important that grammar part in NCC has proper name, that is, 'grammar' that represents identity of korean knowledge part. And this curriculum emphasizes context and reality, especially content system. It is characteristic that we can find hierarchy of content item in teaching and learning in year grades. Also, SSC has various characters. Maybe, it is possible for us to call it as life-centered curriculum and student-centered curriculum. Originally, name of grammar in SSC was 'life-grammar'. It means that school grammar must be based in real korean language. Content system of grammar subject consists of three parts, that is, KK(korean language & knowledge), KL(korean language & life) and KC(korean language & consciousness). Especially, it is very important to emphasize KL and KC. Maybe, it is expected that real and useful grammar textbook will be published, and interesting grammar class will be done.
