This thesis investigates the present status and improvement of Korean language education at domestic universities and the government's effort for globalization of the Korean language. The representative institutes for this purpose are language centers attached to universities and some universities themselves that developed ‘Korean Teacher Training’ and ‘Teaching Korean as Foreign Language(TKFL)’ programs. And the role of the academic society and government in relation to the Korean language is also important to the globalization of the Korean language. As the main subjects for the development of Korean education, they should cooperate more closely than before. First of all, the current problems that instructors working in education centers in universities face should be adapted to the Korean language policy and the graduate school curriculums of TKFL. In addition, academic institutes should try to be reflected at the government level. And the government should also keep its ears open to listen to the voice of places of Korean education, which means the government should set the direction for the globalization of the Korean language, support relevant academic institutes and Korean education centers in universities to have sufficient equipment for education. Through this process, the development of Korean education will be reinvigorated and the globalization of the Korean language will be achieved.
