Abstract
Qualitative researchers are considered as part of the research process, and not exclusive from the process. Qualitative researchers should negotiate their roles in the research field with participants because they enter the site and live with the participants. This reflexive story starts with my own experience as a doctoral student to negotiate the qualitative researcher’s roles as facilitator with the participants. This writing reveals behind the scenes of negotiating processes and lessons from the experiences. This story extends further into its discussion of importance of negotiating researchers' roles with the consideration of the culture of within-in-class facilitator. The story ends with a discussion of qualitative researcher’s roles to create a culture of facilitator within the classroom, which implies that qualitative research can be an approach for teacher education.
