Abstract
Recently, India’s strategic approach to Africa has intensified to include multi-dimensional levels of mutual cooperations beyond economic ones. Above all, India’s deepening involvement in Africa has been affected by the China’s dominant emergence in the 21st century. In particular, a number of Indian enterprises have played a leading role in opening the window opportunity for an India government to expand its engagement with Africa on the continent. Paying attentions to the fact that India’s strategic approach to Africa has broadened to overcome the confines of economic cooperative relations between India and Africa, thus, this paper tries to deal with multi-dimensional aspects of history, trade/investment and development cooperations, multilateral institutionalization through dialogue forums and peace·security issues. This will be conducive to understanding not only the scope and extent of mutual cooperations for India-Africa relations, but also the nature and character of India’s engagement with Africa within the changing context of post-Cold War.
