실용음악전공자의 미술치료 경험에 대한 질적연구 -경험의 구조와 변화과정을 중심으로-
A Qualitative Study on the Experience of Art Therapy Among Applied Music Majors Focusing on the Structure of Experience and the Process of Change

본 연구의 목적은 실용음악전공자의 미술치료 경험의 구조와 변화과정을 알아보는 것이며, 연구방법은 Strauss와 Corbin(2008)의 근거이론 연구방법론에 따랐다. 연구 참여자는 이론적 표집방법에 따라 선정한 개인미술치료를 12회기 이상 경험한 실용음악전공자 9명으로, 25세~30세의 남성 3명과 여성 6명이다. 자료수집을 위해 2019년 6월부터 9월까지 개인별 심층면접을 실시하였고 1회당 평균 100분이 소요되었다. 자료분석 결과, 249개의 개념과 72개의 하위범주, 23개의 범주가 도출되었다. 연구결과, 실용음악전공자의 미술치료 경험의 구조에서 인과적 조건은‘뮤지션의 불안 요소’, ‘삶의 혼란’, ‘심리적 도움 구하기’이며, 맥락적 조건은 ‘초심을 지키며 뮤지션의 보람 느끼기’, ‘미술치료에 대한 호기심과 주춤거림’, ‘낯선 미술’, ‘상처 직면의 어려움’, 중심현상은 ‘미술이 나의 존재를 드러냄’이었다. 중재적 조건은 ‘마음이 안정되는 상호작용의 장소’, ‘즐거움과 편안함을 주는 미술’, ‘직면과 통찰의 미술치료’ 등이며, 작용/상호작용은 ‘미술로 있는 그대로의 나 만나기’, ‘나의 본질을 발견하는 미술치료’, ‘미술로 성장의 길 가기’, ‘삶의 중심에 서기’ 등이다. 결과는 ‘이상적 뮤지션으로 살기’, ‘깊어지는 음악세계’, ‘참된 자기애’ 등이 도출되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점에 대하여 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the structure and change process of the art therapy experience among applied music majors. This study was analyzed according to the grounded theory research procedure proposed by Strauss and Corbin (2008). Participants were nine applied music majors who experienced art therapy as the theoretical sampling method. The participants were aged 25 to 30 years and included three males and six females. Data were collected via in-depth interviews from June to September 2019. Each interview lasted for an average of 100 minutes. Analysis of the collected data led to 249 concepts, 74 subcategories, and 22 categories. The causal conditions were “anxious of musician,” “confusion of life” and “seeking for a psychological help.” The contextual conditions included “keeping the beginning, and feeling the worth of musicians,” “the curiosity and hesitance of an art therapy,” “unfamiliar art,” and “difficulty and discrepancy of facing hurts.” The central phenomenon was found to be “art revealing my existence.” The intervening conditions were “the place of interaction where my mind can relax,” “art giving joy and comfort,” “art of confrontation and insight,” and so on. The actions/interactions were “encountering myself by art,” “go to the path of growth with art,” “standing at the center of life,” and so on. The results were “living as an ideal musician,” “extended music world,” and “true narcissism,” and so on. The change processes were “objectively look” for the first state “separation and conflict of values,” for the second state, “strengthen of inner power” for the third state, and “integration” for the fourth stage. This study advanced through each step to arrive at the result. Based on these research results, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
