Abstract
A new redish yelow gerbera (Gerbera hybrida Hort.) cultivar Songsonge was developed from a cross Princesaand Beauty folowed by seedling and line selections at the Floricultural Experiment Station, Gyeongnam Agricultural Researchand Extension Services (ARES) in 1998. Characteristics trials were conducted three times from 1999 to 201. It has characteristicsof reddish yellow color (RHS No. 21-B), brown center, single type and mid-large flower. It also is in good harmony in ray floretcolor and flower center color with stable flower shape. The vase life was 12.9 days. The average yield of Songsonge was 47.5flowers per plant in the greenhouse yield carried out from 19 to 201. This cultivar was registered as a comercial cultivar in2001. It wil be able to be planted in any grenhouse region in Korea.
