본고의 문제의식은 개체적이고 원자적인 인간 이해가 ‘인간-이후’ 시대의 문제들에 대한 해법을 창출해 내는데 큰 장애가 된다는 것이다. 개체 중심의 인간 이해는 우리가 당면한 문제들의 총체성을 보도록 하는 대신에 우리로 하여금 문제의 원인이 되는 책임자로서 개인을 색출하도록 한다. 하지만 본고는 우리의 문제들은 총체적인 문제이며, 그래서 우리의 사유 패러다임을 근본적으로 바꿀 것을 요구하는 문제들이라고 주장한다. 그러한 사유 패러다임의 근본적인 전환은 무엇보다도 인간에 대한 근대적 패러다임 즉 근대 이래의 개체적이고 원자적인 인간 이해를 넘어서서, ‘사건적 존재’ 혹은 ‘사이-존재’로서 인간 이해로 나아갈 것을 요구한다. 그것은 곧 정신과 자연 사이에서 파악의 사건을 구성하는 몸적 주체의 혼종성에 대한 이해이며, 이를 통해 가상공간과 소셜미디어 네트워크를 통해 변해가는 인간의 경계를 탐색하고자 한다.
Abstract
The critical mind of this paper is that our understanding of human being as an atomic individual has become a big hurdle to our intellectual effort to deal with emerging problems in our age of ‘Post-Humanism.’ Instead of disclosing the totality of the emerging problems we are facing, the individualistic understanding of human being have had us accuse certain individual(s) of being responsible for the matters. This paper argues that our crisis has an holistic character and thus that it requires a profound change in our paradigm of thinking. Such a change of paradigm demands that one needs to make a pathway to a new understanding of human being as a event-being or as the being-between beyond the modern paradigm of human being as an atomic individual. It is none other than an understanding of the hybridity of the bodily subject constituting the event of prehension between the mind and nature. On the basis of such an understanding of human being, this paper explores the murky boundary of human being which is constantly shifting in the virtual time-space and social media networks.
