본 연구는 교사와 부모가 유아의 현재 발달수준을 파악하고, 유아에 대한 교육을 계획하고 실천하는데 활용될 수 있는 자료를 제공하고자 하는 목적으로 3, 4세용 유아발달검사를 개발하였다. 관련문헌고찰과 1차, 2차 예비검사를 통하여 선정된 최종시안은 인지영역 26문항, 언어영역 28문항, 운동영역 20문항, 사회정서영역 23문항 등 총 97문항으로 구성되어 있다. 문항통과율과 문항변별도, 문항내적합치도와 공인타당도 자료가 적절한 수준으로 나타났다.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to construct a valid and reliable developmental test for 3 & 4-year-old children and then to assess both the adequacy of the items and the overall test. To achieve this aim, researchers first reviewed the literature related to the development of young children, analyzed several developmental test instruments from home and abroad, and examined the developmental levels of 3 & 4-year-old children. Then, using the final draft of the test, researchers assessed its adequacy by testing it first with 320 kindergartners in Pusan. ESI-R and the Social-Emotional Developmental Scale were used to examine concurrent validity of the test. After 2 weeks, a retest was conducted with 80 children in order to assess test-retest reliability. The results of this research are as follows: First, the final draft of the Developmental Test for 3 & 4-Year-Old Children consists of 97 items in 4 areas. Second, the passing rate is form 1.3% to 100.0% and is increased according to the age. The mean between the upper and lower groups with regard to item discrimination shows significant difference. Third, internal consistency reliability is from .85 to .92 and test-retest reliability is from .86 to .94, Concurrent validity to ESI-R indicates .54 and correlation with Social-Emotional Developmental Scale was .77. The result of the analysis of subordinate areas and the sum according to age with respect to the developmental tendency of Developmental-Test for The 3 & 4-Year-Old Children shows an increase in the mean as age increases. Thus, the assessment research demonstrates that this Developmental Test for 3 & 4-Year-Old Children is both valid and reliable in measuring developmental levels of 3 and 4- year-old children.
