청소년의 참여 경험과 정치 활동 유형별 참여 의사의 관계

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 참여 경험과 성인기의 정치 활동 유형별 참여 의사의 관계를 알아보는 것이다. 중학생 2,839명과 고등학생 3,614명을 대상으로 조사한 결과는 중학생과 고등학생에게서 거의 유사하게 나타났으며, 다음과 같다. 첫째, 참여 경험이 성인기의 모든 정치 활동에 대한 참여 의사에 긍정적 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 합법적 항의, 공식적 정치 활동, 투표 관련 활동, 불법적 항의 활동 순으로 독립변수가 종속변수의 변화를 효과적으로 설명한다. 셋째, 정치 관련 대화와 교내 참여는 모든 유형의 정치 참여에, 교외 참여는 투표 참여와 합법 항의 및 불법 항의 3가지 유형에, 미디어를 통한 정치 정보 접촉은 투표 참여와 합법 항의 2가지에 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 종속변인 각 정치 참여 유형에 대한 독립변인들의 상대적 영향력도 비슷한 양상을 보이는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The focus of this study is to explore the impact of civil engagements on the intention of various political participations in adulthood. It was empolyed hierarchical multiple regression using the nationally representative data from National Youth Policy Institute. The results are similiar between middle school and high school students. First, youth participation has significantly the positive impact on the intention of all political participations in adulthood. Second, independent variables explain effectively the change in the dependent variable in the order of legal protest, formal political participation, activity related vote, illegal protest. Third, Participation in school and dialogs related political/social issues with parents or friends have the effect on the intention of the political participation of all types. And participation in community has the impact on the intention of the three types(illegal and legal protest and participation relate vote). Using political information through the media has the influence on the intention of two types(participation relate vote and legal protest). Fourth, The relative influence of independent variables to political participation was similar.
