청년의 결혼 및 가족관과 양육관 유형이 결혼 및 출산의향에 미치는 영향: 잠재프로파일분석을 이용하여

본 연구는 한국 청년의 결혼 및 가족관과 양육관을 잠재프로파일분석을 통해 분류하고 분류된 유형이 결혼 및 출산의향에 어떤영향을 미치는지 검증하였다. 이를 위해 2021년 보건사회연구원에서 실시한 가족과 출산조사 자료를 이용하여 총 4,049명의 청년을대상으로 분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국 청년의 결혼 및 가족관, 양육관은 전통-정서추구형, 탈전통형, 가치중립형 3개의 유형으로 분류되었다. 둘째, 전통-정서추구형은 결혼의향이 높게 나타났으며 탈전통형은 결혼의향이 낮은 것으로나타났다. 셋째, 전통-정서추구형은 출산의향이 높게 나타났으며 탈전통형은 출산의향이 낮게 나타났다. 마지막으로 전통-정서추구형은결혼과 출산의향이 모두 높게 나타났으며 탈전통형은 반대로 결혼과 출산의향이 모두 낮게 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과를 바탕으로본 연구는 청년의 결혼 및 가족관과 양육관의 유형에 따라 결혼 및 출산의향에 차이가 있음을 밝히고 있고, 이에 따라 출산 및 양육지원정책이 차별적으로 접근되어야 할 필요성을 시사하고 관련된 함의점을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to categorize Korean young adults’ marriage, family and child-rearing values using latent profile analysis and to examine how the categorization affects intentions of marriage and fertility. This study used a total of 4,049 young adults using data from the 2021 National Family and Fertility Survey by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs. To test the research questions, this study employed latent profile analysis by M-Plus and multinomial logistic regression analysis. Key research findings are as follows: First, young adults’ marriage, family and child-rearing values were categorized into three types: traditionalemotion- seeking, non-traditional, and value-neutral. Second, traditional-emotional-seeking class was more likely to intend to marry and non-traditional class was more likely not to intend to marry. Third, traditional-emotional-seeking class was more likely to have child(ren) and non-traditional class was less likely to have child(ren). Finally, traditional-emotional-seeking class was more likely to intend to marry and have child(ren), while non-traditional class was less likely to do both, and less likely to intend to marry but not to have child(ren). Based on the research findings, this study concludes that policy for boosting marriage and childbirth among youth should be tailored for different types of young adults. In addition, this study suggests several policy implications.
