성호(星湖) 이익(李瀷)의 홍범(洪範)에 대한 관점 고찰

성호 이익(星湖 李瀷, 1681~1763)이 그 초안을 작성한 안정복의 『동사강목(東史綱目)』의 「제동사편면(題東史篇面)」에는 홍범(洪範)에 관한 언급들이 그 주요 내용들로 구성되어 있다. 특히 이익은 홍범을 낙서(洛書)와 연관시키면서 낙서의 2가 홍범의 두 번째 오사(五事)와 연관되고, 낙서의 8이 홍범의 여덟 번째 서징(庶徵)과 연관된다고 보면서 2와 8이 서로 자리를 바꾸어 하늘과 사람이 서로 감응하고, 서로 간여한다는 의미를 담고 있다는 점을 부각시키고 있다. 이 논문은 이익이 홍범과 낙서의 연관성을 풀어가면서 주목한 천인상감[天人相感], 천인상여[天人相與]의 사유와 그 의도를 살펴보고자 한다. 또한 홍범 및 낙서의 방위, 은하수와 조선땅의 지리적 특성과의 연관성을 통해 이익이 주목했던 조선의 문화와 역사의 주체의식을 살펴보고자 한다.
Abstract
The main idea of introduction to Ahn Jung-bok's Dongsagangmok, organized by Seongho Ik (1681-1763), is about Great Plan(hongfan, 洪範). In particular, Yi Ik relates Great Plan to Luoshu (洛書), saying that 2 is related to Great Plan's second category, five activities or duties(wushi 五事), and 8 is related to Great Plan's eight category, various verifications in divination(shuzheng 庶徵). He paid attention that 2 and 8 switch positions and imply that Heaven and humans interact with each other. This paper attempts to explore why Yi Ik found out philosophies of interaction and intervention between Heaven and humans from Great Plan and Luoshu, and what his true intention. In addition, this paper examines Yi Ik’s cultural and historical subject consciousness of Joseon, which was noted through the relationship between the bearing of Great Plan and Luoshu and the geographical characteristics of the Milky Way and Joseon land.
