Abstract

The purposes of this study was to scrutinize the problem-solutions in Kinesmetrics to develop the physical activity guidelines for Korean in Kinesiology and Health-related academic area. The findings and the suggestions are as follows: First, the researchers should decide whether they will measure the physical activity or the energy expenditure. Then, before applying the physical activity measurers for any target population, the validity and reliability evidence of the measures for the specific population should be examined. While the validity evidence is examined, the criterion measure which is measuring what it is supposed to be measured should be employed, but not measuring different constructs. Second, the test scores obtained from the physical activity measurers should be consistent. To examine the reliability evidence, test-retest, equivalence, and consistency of the test score, various statistical analysis can be applied, such as independent t-test, correlation coefficients, incraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), percent of the error, etc. Third, the missing data should be accurately treated Replacement of the individual mean scores was better than the group mean scores. Finally, utilizing the accurate physical activity measure, the relationship between health and level of the physical activity should be determined based on this scientific evidence, the criterion-referenced standard of physical activity levels should be set for healthy individuals.
