순자의 부국강병론 사상에 관한 연구

Abstract

The theory of prosperity a very important position in the political thought of Xunzi. He describes the economic policy of the state centering on rich countries. He can be said to be the first thinker who discussed economic issues with two characters, prosperity(富國). The four principles regarding the rich country theory presented by Xunzi can be said to be as follows. The first principle is politics that emphasizes agriculture and makes people rich. That is, Xunzi argued that the fundamental policy to make the country rich is emphasizing agriculture through an in-depth discussion about the general relationship between agricultural production and finances. The next principle is implementing policies that emphasize the fundamental industry of the country. The next principle is clearly dividing jobs. That is, Xunzi thought that if the governors collect taxes from the people in accordance with the law and have people thriftily use properties as the example shows, the people would become rich. The following are particulars regarding the promotion, development and proper management of industries and commerce. The powerful army policy mentioned by Xunzi can be said to be a policy basically based on renyi(仁義). That is, Xunzi claimed that wars should be based on Renyi, and the purpose of wars was to prohibit violence and to eliminate evils. In addition, Xunzi claimed that if the state becomes a great stable state so that scholars would obey and the people would enjoy stable lives, the society will be stabilized in the state so that any form of foreign invasions can be sufficiently prevented, and regulatory orders and prohibitory orders will be well observed so that strong army can be fostered, ultimately leading to the achievement of the purpose of strong army.
